Reflection on Cyber- bullying



                 Cyber bullying is on a constant rise and every one is now getting bullied over the internet. Social media networks such as Facebook and myspace are making cyber bullying much easier. Cyber bullying can effect peoples lives.  There have been many cases were cyber bullying has lead to suicide or even homicide. Being a cyber bully is easy because you dont need to confront the person, or you may not even need to know the person.  I read of a girl who got cyber bullied at a young age and continued to get bullied all her life. This man would not stop bullying her until she finally drank bleach and killed her self. Cyber bullying is a serious matter and we need to find a way to stop it and fast.

I  feel like Alton has over exaggerated the story, i understand that it was wrong how the police acted and how they responded to a black male walking out of his apartment but the way he depicted the situation seemed like something was done to him that was much worse. he says his life will never be the same after such a simple incident, what if something else had happened how would he of reacted then? But none the less this was was an interesting story i honestly felt bad for Alton, the police consistently tried to prove that he was guilty but didn't succeed Alton's day was ruined and he missed his play.

Writing patterns occur all the time wether you are writing or some one else is. Their are 6 types of writing patterns and each one has its own significant style. My preferred writing pattern is Examples. I feel that its the easiest way to explain to some one what you are talking about. Showing examples can depicts what your trying to say and will help get your point across faster and more efficiently. I like this chapter because it showed me the other types of writing styles that i never thought of using until now..

Understanding supporting details is very crucial to understand the main idea. The supporting details usually tells us alot about the topic at hand. Diagrams are a great way to show how supporting details are used and to show us how they actually support the main idea. I like this chapter because it helps me visualize where the details in the paragraph might be.

Chapter 6

This chapter focuses on understanding paragraphs topics and main ideas. For every paragraph we read there is a main idea and we need to focus on that idea when reading the paragraph. The main idea is the most important idea and i feel that thats true. I usually understand what the paragraph is talking about so finding the main idea isnt to difficult for me. But for many others this chapter could be a great help.  

Chapter 5

     Seeing how reviewing is very important this chapter to me was like a review to me because i learned these things in high school. Many things in this chapter like avoiding one word answers and back round knowledge were familier to me already. The only thing that i have learned from this chapter was that Previewing was to help find out what the book is about.

Chapter 4

            I have learned that many works in the english language have prefixes, roots and suffixes. I never knew that they were so important to the english language. This chapter showed me the many words that use prefixes and how they are used in the sentence. I found this chapter interesting and very helpful. I have learned about root in high school, those are important also. This chapter reminded me of the importance of words and their roots.

Chapter 3

                          In this chapter they clarified the use of the table of contexts and the index. this chapter was pretty much straight forward and got right to the point. There wasn't much that i didn't know. This chapter for me was the least informative and most useless chapter. The one useful thing i understood from this chapter was the context clues. They explained the various types of them and the difference of them.

Chapter 2

                                   Ive known to always search long and hard for your textbooks in places that have familiar topics.Read the table of contexts before reading to know what your going to be reading about. Ive honestly never bothered to look at the table of contents. I am going to start using it to get a general idea of what the chapters and texts are about. I would still like to learn after reading this chapter how to use the index and table of contents a little better but i think it just takes time getting used to.

Chapter 1

           College before reading this chapter was a mystery. Keeping an open mind, college came unexpected from the professos and to the college level work. I would of preferred to go into college with some insight on the workload. After reading this chapter i have learned to dedicate my time and be more focused on my studies. High grades will not be handed to me on a silver platter, i need to work hard and make sure i understand whats being taught.
